Alexander Turobin
Alex, partner of Windmill Structural Consultants since 2023, is the head of structures in engineering department.
Alex joined Windmill in 2019 as a project lead, acting as lead designer on a wide variety of projects, many unique in nature, from post-tensioning of ceramic beams to the assessment of membrane structures to the demolition of port cranes.
His principal specializations are in the fields of steel-, civil- and lightweight-structures.
Prior to working for Windmill, he worked for a multinational engineering consultancy in the UK, where he worked on large-scale civil engineering projects such as the Hull Flood Defence Scheme, where he worked on the design of combi-pile retaining walls with 1.8m diameter circular hollow sections, and Werrington Grade Separation, where he led the design of a 50m span steel footbridge and for which he came runner up in the IABSE 2018 Young Professionals Paper Prize and the 2018 ICE Yorkshire Geotechnical Group Presentation Competition. |
